United Homeless Healthcare Partners (UHHP) is pleased to offer several exciting new workshops in 2012. Each workshop series is a part of a larger initiative to increase capacity, share lessons learned and create communities of practice that examine innovative ways to serve homeless and chronically homeless individuals and families in Los Angeles County.

Steps to Successful Disability Applications -Advanced Course
This advanced training provides an opportunity for homeless advocates that have completed the introductory course to dive deeply into the disability benefits application process. Participants will learn, in detail, the application process, the component parts of the application along with tips and strategies for developing the application narrative. Developing the application narrative and reports content for the disability application will be at the heart of this training. At the conclusion of this training students will:
- Describe the new and improved application process based on best practices;
- Demonstrate effective screening of clients;
- Understand what information is needed for each section of the application;
- Apply tips on how to develop narrative that best supports each of the disability application sections;
- Receive guidance from experienced benefits advocates.
*Pre-Requisite for this course: Steps to Successful Disability Applications - Introductory Course.* You may register concurrently for the training listed above scheduled for February 3, 2012
